IP address is an identifier for a computer or device on a TCP/IP network. Networks which use TCP/IP protocol route messages based on the destination IP address. This is unique for a particular computer on the network. A machine is not really on the internet, if it doesn.t have an IP number. This binary value(IP number) determines how packets are delivered to their destination hosts.

Why Hiding IP:

IP address is exposed every time we visit a website. For example, I live in manhattan and connect to the Internet with my account. When I check my IP address, it shows that I am in NewYork and use Data and Voice carrier as my Internet Service Provider (ISP). What we feel is that we are 100% secured when using the internet through our account, but that.s not happening. Basically anonymous proxy server will hide your ip address and by visiting website they will not see your IP address but IP from anonymous proxy. It is possible because connection through anonymous proxy is done as :

Your PC --> ISP --> Anonymous Proxy Server --> Destination

The IP consists of 4 numbers which are separated by a period. These indicate the domain, the sub network, the network, and the host computer numbers. It could be used by hackers to break into your computer, steal personal information, or commit other crimes against you. Hiding or keeping the IP address safe and secure will ensure you that your personal information is not leaked out to the outside world.

Easiest way to hide an IP: It is easily done by using a non-transparent proxy server i.e, just by using an online anonymizer. This needs no change in the browser settings and is obviously the best solution available.
